Reports Report 1517i (Event 1517-2015)

Observer
Name Hugh B
Experience Level 4/5
Remarks My view was partially obstructed by trees. Consequently, I saw the meteor first above the constellation Sag. (the Teapot), then its streak passed behind a tree and re-emerged in time to see the fragmentation and terminal flash. I believe it passed behind another tree so that I was not able to see the end of the trajectory. Also, the meteor appeared "thick"; i.e. the streak was about a half-finger wide. The terminal flash was exceedingly bright, brighter than Venus, brighter than the ISS when the sun catches its solar arrays--and it was already a very bright meteor.
