I first saw the object from my basement window. I watched the object for about 10 seconds and then quickly ran outside. I saw the object move from the south south west to the north north west for another 10 seconds or so after getting outside. The object eventually disappeared behind the horizon but the glowing trail as persistent the entire time. It was the longest event of this kind I've ever witnessed.
