Remarks | There was a single bright star directly above the meteor track in the north west. The meteor was brighter than this star. The star was the only one visible because of scattered cloud and light pollution. We are not sure about the time of the sighting; could have been between 8:45 to 9:15 (sorry I forgot to check). Also, we sighted the meteor immediately north of mile marker 3.2 northbound on I-87 in Colonie, NY. I have a more detailed description of the track in my journal if you want it. I am an amateur astronomer, just not experienced with meteors. |
