I love astronomy. Its so fascinating. I do a lot of star gazing, and I can without a doubt distinguish whether a "moving object" in the sky is an airplane, the ISS, or an actual shooting star. I've seen a meteor shower in the middle of the night. I've also seen a shooting star. All in the very late/early hours of the morning. Tonight I saw something I have never , ever seen before. It was so huge. It could've been a plane crash by how close it looked. But, it was too fast. And there was a huge explosion of light. The "fireball" was green and yellow. It left a little trail, but it all faded quickly. I was lucky enough to be looking in the sky and the exact time and moment. Unfortunately, my friend didn't see it and couldn't help me distinguish it. It was so cool and awesome I'd just like to know what it could be! It was just seriously so big. HUGE. three tines the size the highway street lights looked. And brighter. Like a flash of light. It seriously took up the whole sky. Not like a tiny star shooting across the sky. This thing came down, like it has crashed somewhere. It was so big, like how an airplane looks bigger when its landing. But I assure you I was not anywhere remotely close to our airport. And anyway not fast or bright enough to be an airplane. It was a flash of green and yellow. Like how the astronauts in the space shuttle return and burn through the layers of the thermosphere. Its like the shape of a rain drop? Orange looking because its in flames? That's all I can describe the shape of it. It was yellow and green and so fast, and CLOSE |
