Reports Report 3632b (Event 3632-2014)

Observer
Name Louis M
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks Two or perhaps three of the people I was with got a better look at the entire event as they were facing it and my attention was drawn to my left (facing north, turning west) with the flash of light. Seemed to last a long time - certainly not lightning - I estimate 1-2 seconds or so. Lasted long enough for me to turn and look west, and was still observable. Odd one person I was hunting with saw a meteor, commented, I looked where he indicated he saw the meteor seconds earlier and saw another. These observations were minutes before the large fireball, explosion we saw came minutes later. I happen to have approximate latitude and longitude of observation point as we were hunting and mark the area on google maps in advance. Time is an estimate, I just didn't mark it as we were setting up to waterfowl hunt. I was at the boat ramp before 5 a.m., and am estimating what time I arrived, got out of the boat, fiddled around in the water with some decoys, made the observations as we were setting up to hunt.

Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks Flash of light lit up entire sky and surrounding area, this drew my attention to my left, and after turning I could still see what appeared to be an explosion. Prior to that, minutes in advance, I saw a shooting star, and another person I was hunting with had seen one seconds earlier. These were clearly not the objects involved in this report.
