Remarks | I was floating on my back watching the stars slowly appear. There was still enough daylight in the sky to see the shape of airplanes flying nearby. This, however, was a ball of fire that intensified. The fireball traveled south to north until I lost sight of it behind a big tree. I've only seen one other meteor this big and bright 20 years ago while driving along the California coast at night. |
