Reports Report 2143i (Event 2143-2014)

Observer
Name Michael K
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks As I have said I have seen shooting stars and meteor showers in very remote locations and this one, in the heart of Los Angeles was by far the most beautiful one I've ever seen. Very dramatic as well... I thought an asteroid was hitting L.A. for a moment.

Remarks Let me say I have seen many fireballs and this was by far the largest trail I ever saw. It broke off into fragments which left their own trails that oddly seemed to diverge in strange angles, sharper angles than I would of expected - way less gradual. The trails lasted for like 9 seconds. It was very dramatic and even more so being in the heart of West Los Angeles.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks It wasn't blinding, but it was more like the fireball was really big and bright and then went super big for a moment before becoming smaller but more bright.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks As I said the trails lasted 9 seconds and there were like a dozen fragments all large and dramatic and with their own trails, some of those even popping like fireworks.
