Remarks The sighting was definitely impressive. It was so bright and unexpected that at first I questioned my mental integrity. As it fell I thought, "Er, missle/crashing airplane/bomb/firework/Russia...Meteor!" Obviously, I'm no professional, and I have never seen anything like it firsthand. The form I've submitted is pretty accurate with respect to my position on my front stoop in relation to the streak. Other details might not be as accurate. I live downtown in Birmingham, Alabama, and last night the sky was pretty clear, but the city light was bright enough so you have to strain a little to see the stars, and there were plenty of lights on just around me. The meteor streak I saw was a very bright green, with a distinct leading edge; I almost thought the leading edge appeared to be tumbling. The object did appear to be "breaking up" as it fell. For a moment I felt worried it might hurt someone or damage property.
