Reports Report 1483ej (Event 1483-2014)

Observer
Name Darnell T
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks It was PHENOMENAL! I have seen meteors (Leonids) usually late night/early morning, I've seen lunar eclipses, the International Space Station on several occasions, observed Jupiter & Mars this summer with the aid of skymap app, but have never seen anything like this. I may have gotten the direction somewhat skewed & the time of sighting is approximate. . .± 9 PM (hubby & I were leaving Nash's Restaurant in Broussard, LA ) & ~5 secs of sighting; didn't see when it actually disappeared. . hindered by trees/buildings. It was very bright white (perhaps the recently setting sun had contributed to the brightness?). It appeared circular & symmetrical to the naked eye hauling B_TT across the sky @ a good clip.. . .definitely something I had NEVER seen before! Was very fortunate to catch a look-see.
