Remarks | I have never seen anything in the sky this big other than a full moon. I could see the detail and the orange color and the actual flames, instead of white distant light. It was actually the size of a basketball and looked like a flaming comet on a small scale. I was worried it would hit a house. It looked to me to be in the direction of Stephens City. I realized that it still must have been far away, since we didn't hear a boom. It lasted a long time from the initial explosion. |

Terminal flash | |

Observation | Unknown |
Remarks | It looked like a bright lightening flash that lit up the whole sky in my peripheral vision. I thought it was heat lightening. After a few seconds, I turned my head and saw a blazing fireball as big as a basketball fall to the ground. It looked so close that I thought it hit a house. I wish I had seen it upon the flash. All I know was the final burning mass was huge. |
