Name Adair F
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks 1)You asked about a "smoke trail" or tail AFTER it disappeared from view. We did not see anything like that, but it did have a long bright tail while it streaked by. 2) we had been out looking at the "Suoermoon" and were on our way inside. We were looking at what we thought was Mars, and discussing it, when suddenly this thing streaked into view. When we first saw it, it appeared to be between us and the constellation Scorpio. It streaked in what seemed to be a WNW direction and disappeared from sight upstream over Bayou Boeuf which runs behind our house ( you can see it on that satellite image) 3) my husband thought it looked blue/white; it looked green/white to me. He also would pkace it higher in the sky than I. It looked sort of as if someone several miles to our southeast had shot an absolutely enormous Roman candle. We are out in the middle of sugar cane fields with quite a wide view of the sky. There are trees along our driveway that did not interfere with our view of this thing but it did disappear from our view behind the trees along the bayou. Our dog barked at it.
