Remarks | I saw a very similar fireball toward the west in the same area about two months ago - as I recall the colors were very similar. FYI, I saw the most spectacular fireball I've ever seen in southern Nevada in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night in 1996; I wish I had reported that one - it was in June and it was LOW in the sky off the highway as I was travelling from California to Las Vegas. It was fiery orange/yellow (as bright as the sun or more it appeared) HUGE, close, and its trajectory was parallel to the ground and parallel to the highway going in the same direction as us, for maybe 7 seconds (seemed like a long time). It did make a booming noise! |
