Reports Report 1071a (Event 1071-2014)

Observer
Name Kim C
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I have never seen anything like this before in my life, I can't even find any information to help me know what May have caused it. I'm not sure if it was a fireball exactly. I was facing the northwest and the brightest part of the light (where it seemed to radiate from) was above/behind where I was focused at looking, I wish I had seen the main part. What ever it was it generated enough light to light up everything, almost blinding so. Of there had been clouds in the sky I would have assumed it to be the brightest, most bizarre lightning I have ever seen. It was amazing though. I feel so lucky to have witnessed something like this. Also note that the date was actually the early morning (about 2:30am) of the 4th of May but it won't let me choose that date so had to pick the third.

Remarks Not sure if it was to do with the light but about 5 minutes later we heard a heavy rumble that sounded like it could have been thunder or someone bashing on a tin shed, I didn't hear it cleary as I had gone inside where there was also music playing to tell my partner what I had just seen. The sound lasted about 2 seconds.

Terminal flash
Observation Unknown
Remarks The sky was completely cloudless and clear, had been all night, then the whole sky just randomly lit up like really bright lightning. It was a blue colour at first but flashed yellow then bright white filling the whole sky. When the light was blue it appeared in a very large circlular shape surrounding the source of the 'lightning' while the rest of the sky around the horizons lit up in a white colour. The flashes didn't fade like lightning or act like real lightning other then illuminating all my surroundings like it was day , as it finished all the light seemed to get sucked back up and take off into the north of the sky. I was a bit freaked out at first cause it looked a lot like how they betray flying saucers too look like when they take off in movies but there was a lot of meteor action at the time it happened.
