Remarks | Although I didn't witness the meteor, I am fairly certain that the very pronounced sonic boom heard/felt here (some described as an "explosive" sound) is related to this event. |

Remarks | I didn't see the fireball, but there was a pronounced sonic boom at 6:47 PM ET; sounded like thunder (but wasn't); reverberated. Based on twitter reports, and reports (and comments) in local newspaper, the sound was heard throughout the city of Bloomington, IN, which spans several miles. It appears that there was a 3 to 4 minute delay between when most saw the meteor and the sound heard here. |
