Reports Report 3434akq (Event 3434-2013)

Observer
Name Becky Lee B
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks On Dec. 26 at 5:45 pm, I was coming home north on Crooked Creek Rd. about a mile north east of Leonardville, Kansas, when I saw it. It shot across to the NNE of me right around dusk, going in a straight line more or less, from east to west. It was lit up and I thought it was a plane, then a helicopter (we get them flying around up here from nearby Ft. Riley), but it didn't "look right". Then a bunch of what appeared to be sparks flew out the back. Then I thought I was seeing a plane crash. The sparks would spray behind it, then stop, then start again. Then it just disappeared. I strained to see if there was debris falling or any other evidence of what I'd seen, but it just vanished.I drove around the area, still thinking I'd possibly seen a plane crash or meteor, but saw nothing. I meant to look online to see if there were any meteor reports, but forgot about it until it was mentioned on the news this morning, 2 days later. HOW COOL IS THAT!
