Remarks I thought it was a shooting star then it caught on fire as it started to descend. I have never seen anything more than a shooting/falling star. I have wanted to see a meteor shower but when I've known there was going to be on I was never able to be in a place I could see anything. I was asking some friends how I can find out what I saw and I was told there had been a sighting in Iowa and Minnesota and that lead me to here. I don't know if I saw what you have been hearing about but thought I should let you know. I was driving North and I saw it just above the horizon in front of me. It was so early in the evening I didn't really think it could be a star. It started as a straight, thin line like a shooting/falling star then it looked like an airplane on fire. I could only see it for about 3 seconds. I hope this is helpful!
