The fireball looked to me like a small plane getting ready to crash. I was facing North and saw a bright green light appear to the Northeast and it was headed toward the ground to the west at approximately a 45 degree angle. It had a trail behind it that looked like sparks. Much like you would see if a piece of metal was being drug on pavement behind a car.
The combination of the green light and sparks made me think it was a small plane going down.
There was no sound associated with the fireball.
