Remarks | It was beautiful but eery at the same time. My first thought was that it was the comet I had heard about. I have never seen a meteor or what we call falling stars that were colored or lasted that long. Also, usually the meteor showers we have seen seem to be alittle more vertical. This seemed to be going horizontally. We did see a meteor years ago while driving east that was large like this but seemed to fall straight down & was a white flash. Parts of that one were found in states east of Iowa. |

Remarks | Saw the bright ball with colors moving west with a white trail, & after it went a ways horizontally, the ball seemed to explode & then disappeared. I didn't see fragmentation--if I had I would have thought a plane exploded. I was driving so couldn't stop to keep looking. |
