Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I was in the home and there was a brilliant flash. I was facing North and my husband was asleep in a chair facing North. He woke up because the flash inside the house was bright like daylight. The flash was followed by rumbling of the windows and a boom like sound (estimated to be within 2 seconds). The rumbling sounded like it came from the West, but we live on the eastern side of a hillside and that may mean it was moving to the East. I went to the door and saw nothing except other neighbors who were looking to see what had caused the flash. There was no precipitation and none in the forecast. It was not spurious lightning. It made the windows vibrate. It didn't disrupt the computer or radio. I immediately reported it to the local news as a suspected meteor (9:19pm), but they did not reply. Then I saw that another one was seen later in the evening (~11PM) by someone at Providence St. which is nearby.
Fragmentation
