Reports Report 2456ai (Event 2456-2013)

Remarks The object captured my attention while I was driving in fast-moving, heavy traffic in a light-saturated environment; typically, not even bright stars would be noticeable from the road under these conditions. It was moving very fast and was very bright, green in color - not a point of light but clearly an object with some mass - and with a long white tail (I couldn't tell if the trail persisted because I was driving). It seemed to be shooting downward at a steep angle, left to right, south to southwest, almost as if it was going to strike the lower tip of Manhattan or NY harbor. I was at an elevated point on the road--the western (entering Brooklyn) side of the Kosciuszko Bridge--so I had a panoramic view of northeast Brooklyn and the whole of the Manhattan skyline straight ahead and to the right (northward). Because I was driving, I would have been unable to hear anything if there was a sound, but I can tell you I shouted out loud in the car, driving by myself, when I saw it. It was fairly spectacular, but probably lasted less than 2 seconds.
