Reports Report 2431a (Event 2431-2013)

Observer
Name Brendan W
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks It was very large in size compared to meteor showers & shooting stars that I had previously observed - previously fine white streaking line of light. It looked about 1/3 to 1/2 the width of the wingspan of a standard airliner as they are coming in fairly low on their approach to Brisbane Airport. It was like watching something in slow motion out of a movie, travelling about the same speed as a domestic jetliner when seen quite low & on approach to an airport. No audible sounds as was very windy (northerley) at the time & was seen pretty much due south of where I was standing. It seemed to have a fairly thin & regular orange glow around it's front face & top & bottom, with I think a black ball type centre & then from the rear half of the circle (appeared circular) there was lots of small orange flakes with quite a few larger orange flakes breaking off intermittently. Tail was not very long, not what I would have expected. Object appeared very large & quite slow moving, compared to what I would previously have expected having never seen anything like it previously in my life & only going off footage of events like in Russia..
