Reports Report 1719b (Event 1719-2024)

Observer
Name Kris B
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks I was standing on the upper back deck of our home when an extremely bright flash and simultaneously a loud boom occurred. With so much force my right ear hurt the rest of the night. It shook our entire house. I find it odd that a ton of people in our area got online saying "lightning" hit right by their house at the exact same time. There was no previous lightening, no previous thunder. No lightning or thunder after the one singular event. We have had plenty of thunder and lightning storms out here in the country (with lightning strikes directly behind our home). This event was NOT like that! This event was a large flash of white light with a loud explosion that caused rolling thunder across our area that lasted for over a minute. I did not see anything flying through the air prior to the explosion. I would like to reiterate this was something never experienced before, and how can so many people, over a vast area state that lightning hit right behind each one of their homes at the same singular event time? Enough to cause other homes to shake as well. My right ear hurt so bad after I checked for blood.
