I have seen shooting stars burn up. This was so different. Like it got brighter brighter...slight fade?...and then poof it was gone. I could faintly still see the trail for a couple seconds and then the trail was gone as well. The ball did not go beyond the horizon. It just disappeared.

Remarks
Super thin pencil lead size white grey trail that seemed much further away in comparison the the head of the ball. The trail was hard to see but visible before the ball burned out.
