Remarks | I have witnessed several meteor showers and shooting stars. However, this is the first time I have ever witnessed one that was clearly in Earth's lower atmosphere. At around 00:50:00 this morning I was sitting on the porch, talking to my girlfriend, when a bright light traveling through the sky caught my attention. I watched this bright object travel through the sky and disappear behind a barn, the roof of which is only about 10' above the horizon. After the object fell below the horizon, I expected to hear an impact explosion. There was none. This sighting was truly awe inspiring and I would like to suggest the name KDR0905 for the object (the initials and date for another awe inspiring event). |
