Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I always observe the sky on clear nights and am very interested in this subject. My husband and I had just left a restaurant last night and had just gotten onto Hwy 64 heading East to Raleigh, NC when we both spotted what we thought was an unusually large planet at the top of our window. It appeared to grow a little and seemed to stretch before it disappeared to our left. There was a small tail before it disappeared. The sighting lasted longer than I would have ever expected. Very exciting! I had an experience several years ago during a storm that I'd like to discuss with someone. This is related to a lightening fireball in my backyard with great sound and involved a rabbit. I left a message re: this at a local TV station but never had a reply nor heard from anyone else except a neighbor who heard the sound.
