Reports Report 1143cv (Event 1143-2013)

Observer
Name Julie R
Experience Level 2/5
Remarks It was massive and lasted long enough not only to catch my eye (I was laying down on my porch, facing east, talking on phone) but for me to see this bright orange fireball roughly in northern direction from me, for me to call out to my family, who came in from the living room to see, went back inside to get their cameras, take several pics (no video, sorry) and for us to talk about what the bleep we were staring at before it receded into the distance (again, I'd say moving roughly in northern direction--not so much moving/rising as simply shrinking away from us). I'd estimate was visible at least 30 secs. As for time I first noticed it, I'm not exactly sure. According to my cell phone, I started talking to my friend at 9:44, and I noticed the fireball a few minutes into our conversation. And it was long gone before the moonrise at 10:08. Amazing to watch, also a little scary. Have definitely never seen anything like it!!
