Remarks | We were headed home, southbound from Batesville on I-55 near Grenada this afternoon. Around 5:30 PM, we saw a very bright, very big, meteor burning up about 45 degrees above the horizon in the eastern sky. It was a pretty tremendous sight. From my perspective, it seemed to be travelling in a north-eastern direction, with a bright white-blue tail. The tail was disintegrating into smaller fireballs that would instantly burn out before it fully escaped the tail. It was visible for about three or four seconds. |
