Reports Report 1628e (Event 1628-2012)

Observer
Name Mike
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks The Meteor looked like an extremely large, white firework falling straight down out of the sky - it had no angle from my perspective. It was bright white, all of the edges were ragged and flame like, also white - all pointed away from the center of the ball. The bottom edge was not flattened or smooth like you would expect from something on fire falling through the sky. It was large and had a lot of definition/ depth - probably the size of a dime when held at arms length. It looked like it was very close. I listened for the sound of it hitting the ground but there was no sound. It had a very thin almost invisible tail that was about four (4) times the diameter long. The tail was white also. It was almost due east of me. It was approximately 5:10 am. The sky was clear with spotty low level clouds. I was running in a residental neighborhood so there were street lights - the closest street light being approximately 8\" from the meteor when measured at arms length - south of the meteor. It was amazing!
