Remarks I was in an open, dark field (Boy Scout Camp). Zero cloud cover. I was looking at Jupiter with the naked eye and saw a bright object appear in the eastern sky. It was growing larger as it came right at me. As it approached, the train was a orange and white mix. Appeared very slow movin at first (like a man made object. It went over our heads and it became very clear that it was a meteor. It was probably a 1/4\" or more in diamter (from our perspective) which means it appeared VERY close. It was almost slow motion until it was overhead, then it apeared much faster. It appeared slower as it travelled west. The train apeared to be about 10\" -12\" long and about the same width as the fireball itself (for the front 2/3). The last third of the train tapered to a \"fuzzy\" point. The whole sighting was approx 4-5 seconds and I saw the whole thing uninterrupted. It was by far the most spectacular sighting I have ever witnessed. There were three others with me that saw it and we all agreed upon what we witnessed. I couldn\'t help but think how close it appeared - very impressive!
