Remarks | The trail of fireballs was very large & bright, seemed quite low in the sky and felt as if it was almost overhead, about to hit the ground. Reports have come in from western Ireland, so this couldn\'t have happened, but I would be interested to hear where it came down. 5 minutes before the shower appeared I had been filming with my DOP colleague at an elevated position over the reservoir on Mugdock Rd with a Sony XDCam. Unfortunately we missed the opportunity to capture this amazing spectacle with a clear vantage point for miles! |

Remarks | The string of fireballs didn\'t disappear or burn out as I witnessed it. Rather, I lost sight of it when it passed the road on which I was driving and became obscured by large trees to the right side of the road. What I saw coming from my left was a large string of fireballs reducing in size from the largest at the front to a trail of smaller ones. In between each large burning segment seemed to be smaller objects bouncing around within the formation... almost seemingly strung together with invisible thread. The largest leading fireball was a bright golden yellowy orange. I didn\'t notice any great change in the intensity of the colour as it passed by. It took several moments longer to pass than, say, a shooting star for example. |

Remarks | there seemed to be activity in between the defined burning masses, though bits breaking off seemed still to be carried along with the trajectory of the formation. |
