| Remarks | I first saw it in the sky behind a single storey building on Beam Street as we were just exiting the car park going onto Beam Street - it appeared from nowhere in the sky, then as we drove around the building to get a clearer look, it was still there when we reached the main road, very, very big and bright - it was burning and visible for about 3 minutes before it got too low to see behind other buildings. It looked like something had exploded in the sky - a big ball of fire, followed by a very long orange train of individual burning "balls" and sparks - like a comet trail or a massive firework etc. I initially thought a plane had exploded, an d it was falling debris, but it just seemed to glide through the sky, getting fainter, slower, and lower after the initial sudden, bright appearance. |
