Remarks | We were in the countryside away from streetlights looking at the clear night sky, so got a very good view. It initially looked like an aircraft with a bright headlight approaching low in the sky from the east, then grew in magnitude and brightness into a white g;owing ball about the size of the moon. Then we saw two white fragments break off, then a long train of golden sparks including up to 15 fragments formed as the white ball disintegrated. Then it diminished as it headed west, and disappeared near the horizon. Overall sighting around 20 seconds, in a straight line east to west. |
