Object seemed very large as it came down, was very fast. The clouds in the sky made it have a \"foggy\" affect but I saw a bright flash which momentarily back lit the trees.

At approx 8:30 PM I was driving northeast and just to the north observed a very bright large light that seemed to be behind clouds appear about 45 deg above the ground streaking extremely fast in an angle to the earth from right to left but down and as soon as it went below the treeline I saw a bright flash and then nothing. I was in a car at the time so did not hear anything.
