Remarks was trying to look at jupiter next to the moon which was straight overhead. lining up my etx90 scope by eye using red dot finder. was straining to line up jupiter for observation when i saw a tiny white lite grow into a fiery bright meteor. looked like a comet. took about five seconds to grow to app. 10 degree length and then it hung in the sky for about five seconds. it then flashed and faded out leaving a black smoke cloud which hung for maybe five seconds. very close to the ground and straight over my head. amazing sight.
