Remarks |
I was inside my house listening to a movie in the dark. The object appeared through my window (about 30 deg of elev from where I was sitting) and disappeared behind the building next to mine (about 25 deg of elev) so the sighting was brief. The fireball itself must have last longer. But it was noticeable because of its size. It is the biggest fireball I've ever seen. It seemed to be about 1/4 or 1/5 of the full moon in size. It was really bright white given that I'm in Montréal and the sky is a bit hazy tonight. Bright stars are visible (most of Ursa Major and Acrturus are visible). From my position, the object fell left of Alkaid in Ursa Major. |
