I was inside my back porch which is wrapped with 4 mil plastic for the winter to keep plants from freezing. Lights were on in the enclosure, but the meteor was plenty bright to see through the plastic and the explosion at the end was spectacular.

Remarks
I was looking through some 4 mil "clear" plastic that encloses our porch in winter, so my view was blurred. Flash was about as big as my thumb at an arm's length.
