Remarks This is most of what I wrote about 1-1/2 hours after my sighting: I was travelling westward when a bright light suddenly appeared a bit to the right as I was watching the road in front of me. It was a beautiful, moving light (going north to south), shaped kind of like a squat cone, with a rounded, intensely blue-white front section (blue front edge with white behind that) and an elongated, perfectly symmetrical triangular hind end of orange that rapidly became a deep red. Off the sharp point at the end of the cone was a narrow smoky-coloured tail that was about the length or a bit longer than the cone. The colours were very sharp and clear, giving the impression that it was not far away. I could see it through the tree tops as it passed to the edge of my windshield (I leaned forward to keep it in view), and then suddenly it disappeared. I could not tell if a building blocked my view, but it did not reappear out my side window when I leaned back into my seat. The duration of the light was 3 or 4 seconds. The size of the moving ball (front of the cone) would be a bit smaller than a stop light as you sat under one in traffic, and about half that brightness in an equivalent residential area of a town night sky with trees blocking streetlights.
