Reports Report 3262sa (Event 3262-2018)

Observer
Name Debi G
Experience Level 1/5
Remarks My son thought it was a shooting star, but he'd never seen one except in movies. I told him it was much brighter and lasted much longer than any shooting star or satellite or meteor shower I'd observed. I was really startled by the bright light and the way it seemed to explode and include the color red. I was driving and had to keep looking back at the road, so I was surprised to see that it was still visible and occurring each time I looked up from the road. When we got home, I looked it up and we wondered if "space junk" burned that brightly or traveled that quickly to cover such distance. I will ask him to fill this out as well, since he spotted it and kept his eyes on it the entire time it was visible.
