It was big, and appeared to almost have a "bow-wave" of fire. At first I actually thought it was a plane on fire but it was moving too fast. It started to dim and burn out as it went out of view.

Smaller Orange pieces where breaking off as it flew across the sky, ~5 per sec. The pieces burnt out quickly, or at least vanished in the night sky
