Reports Report 794o (Event 794-2018)

Observer
Name Vicki G
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks I have seen many meteors, and this was the 'closest' one I have ever witnessed, very very bright, and low...and with sounds! I have seen one in Waterton Parts many years ago that could be seen in daylight...also horizontal entry. I am a nature display artist, and often view the sky, planets, and watch for such events. This is the 3rd of this direction entry in my area, however, this was the brightest, but not the longest one. The one I saw 2 years ago lasted a very long time on entry...at least a full 5 second, and it too broke up. I believe the fragments of that my have been looked for.

Remarks a bit of sparkle a tiny smoke from one of the fragments.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I had just glanced up to see the bright light coming across the sky (1 second) and by the second count it got brighter...and it looked CLOSE, then it started to snap, pop and yes fizzle, broke up and vanished. Almost sounded like sparklers used for fire works! Very interesting event. I believe they are called horizontal entry Meteors. I have now seen 3 of these in the past 3 years in this area.
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks a larger fragment fell downward, and a few very tiny ones upward...but could not see more than that.
