Remarks | The sky was dark, no visible moon, with some scattered clouds that were barely visible in the dark. Also it was very quiet at that time of night. I cannot see the horizon from where I live as it is hidden behind the surrounding hills. It\'s difficult to estimate brightness of the object as I have no experience in this. But if I could compare the size of the main head of the object with the full moon, I would estimate that the head of the object was 50-75% of the size of the full moon at its zenith. Quite an amazing sight, VERY different from meteors that I have seen in the past. |

Observation | Unknown |
Duration | -1s |
Length | -1° |
Remarks | There *may* have been a train for a very short time after the main part disappeared. Prior to its disappearance, the tail portion was probably about the size of my fist in its length. |
Terminal flash | |
---|---|
Observation | Yes |
Remarks | It appeared to flare brighter for a very brief time, very shortly before disappearing. It happened so very quickly, it\'s difficult to be certain, but I think I saw some brighter flashes coming from the main head part of the object. |
