It was very unusual. My wife and I witnessed it together. In the excitement of Christmas we forgot about it until we discussed it today. Happy New Year. I know the area very well as I have traveled it many times in daylight in the past. Chuck and Joan Misterek

Remarks
Bright Emerald Green Streak Moving Quickly nearly Vertically Downward. It appeared to hit at the base of the canyon wall at about the level of the debris field at the base of the cliff nearly parallel with the Bridge Deck or slightly north. It definitely was below the canyon ledge as the light continued as it fell below the rim of the canyon.
Terminal flash
Observation
Yes
Remarks
The Streak ended abruptly either at the surface or just above it.
