The sky where was overcast. The double flash lit up the clouds and the flashes appeared to move across the sky in the direction I indicated. The boom and rumble did not rattle my windows, but sounded exactly as if a storm was approaching from the immediate west south west. I had a full unobstructed view of the sky and happened to be facing the windows and looking up and out at the time. Following the flashes I waited to hear if there would be a rumble.

Remarks
A couple of minutes after seeing the sky light with a double flash, I heard a boom and a rumble like thunder in the distance. "There we go" I thought, "there is a storm coming."
