Remarks At 2am on November 23, 2017, I was lying in bed awake, facing southeast, gazing out the window directly in front of me. (Yes, I have insomnia.) It was a crystal clear, dark night. Suddenly, the bedroom was lit up by a moving light, as if a helicopter was shining a spotlight at the house. A second later, I saw a brilliant white, round fireball pass across the window from right to left. It took about one second to traverse the window. Then it passed out of view to the left (east). For the next one or two seconds, the other side of the room was lit up as the fireball passed further to the east. Then it was dark again. I half expected a "boom" but there was none. The object was round, about a third the apparent size of a full moon. It sparkled, bright as an arc lamp, with light green accents. I had a clear view of the fireball for about one to two seconds as it passed in front of the window. It lit up the room for about 5 seconds total. About 30 years ago I saw a large fireball, later confirmed by newspaper reports. This sure seemed like another one.
