Remarks | 9:17 pm heading north on 74- saw a massive teal green shooting star come from 5:30 to 11:30 over my car and then in front of the car. It was massive, and close. Easily the size of a sofa and only 300 yards away. I saw it go down in a field off to the right side of the road Tail was pronounced and cloudy. Individual ionizing particles would stream past the mean tip end of the tail. Tail was white despite the teal meteor color. No impact vibrations felt Pulled off on Kistler road. I saw the meteor about 1 mile south of Kistler road, proceeded to follow 74 hoping to see a brush fire in the cold November air and to spot the impact zone. After about a mile, I figured I passed it and pulled off on Kistler Road Gps says 66.7 miles still to State College. Phone GPS wont load with spotty 4G, cannot define specific location Went back to Germany Ridge Road (still N of where I swe it Teal green orb diAmeter wider than index finger held at arms length. (Several arc sevonds of sky) I was about to enter a slight left bend in 74 when I saw it. No sonic boom or vibration |
