I could not see the fireball directly as it was blocked by the roof of my car, but the flash was almost blindingly bright.

The entire landscape lit up in a bright blue color for as far as I could see, like a gigantic lightning flash. The snow as dense in that part of Vermont and it the reflection probably made the flash seem brighter.
