Remarks | We were walking east on a country road - no moon, no visible ground lights - and all of a sudden the ground and fields around us were illuminated. We looked up to our right (south) and saw the finish of a spectacular streak, first with a greenish hue, then lastly expanding to a wider yellow orange flare before it went dark. We were stunned. In years of meteor watching I\'ve never seen anything that seemed so up close. |
