Remarks | I don\'t know how large the actual meteorite was but the ball of fire was easily the size of a golf cart. My husband and I were sitting in the car waiting for a traffic light on an Interstate off-ramp, we were facing West. It was traveling across the sky from my left to right, maybe 100 yards ahead and at the same height as the Interstate overpass (40-50 ft). It looked like it was falling rather quickly but it was going very fast so I don\'t know how far away it actually landed. There have been reports of people spotting a \"shooting star\" from as far away as Ocala, Florida (nearly 100 miles away). |
