Reports Report 2449agp (Event 2449-2017)

Observer
Name Cameron M
Experience Level 3/5
Remarks Everything lined up for me to see the entire life of this meteor. I had no street lights, no light pollution, Just that much further west that the sun effect prevented the meteor from becoming a big blur like all the side view videos and sightings report. I looked down the face of a meteor. SOOOO COOL! I did not over illuminate for me. I saw the fiery trail side view as as best as I can plot my view line and the straight section of sloping down highway, I watched that fiery cone grow but I was able to see so clearly the rolls and WHITE light. I saw no green tone at all. More welding arc spark white with subtle orange tone. It stayed in view directly in front of me the whole time and I need to have someone stopwatch beside me in the truck and re-run the route. I keep getting a stronger than 7 - 8 second visual on the four solo attempts to test my time of view. Regardless...I saw it all. Cam did not have a dash cam. The way I saw it coming straight at me, (I first rationalized it as space junk returning0, but when I heard the reports I started to review what I had seen and when I saw the trajectory on your website...I was almost in direct line visual...pristine unbelievable serendipitous timing.

Remarks I saw it dot to dust trails. Had eyes on it from start to finish. My view was Pacific sun filtered (not quite down) not full dark. All I could see was rolling fire as it became bigger. It came almost straight at me. Please Call me at 778-433-4803 in Victoria. I won the eye lottery...I saw it birth to dust trail. PLEASE CALL me. **The train question answer, is just a random number, and I have no idea how to answer the question above!** it came almost straight at me...it coned then finished square.
Terminal flash
Observation Yes
Remarks I looked down the face of it and dark trails between illuminated trails. It FINISH SQUARE PATTERN not round at all. It just grew and dimmed out to many pin trails of soot
Fragmentation
Observation Yes
Remarks Most definitely...Nothing but multiple fragments that morphed to the pin trails. The bottom pin trail was the thickest and had rolling bumps in it with one peak bump at the half way point of the trail. Above it I best describe it as strings on a harp. Slowly getting thinner as I looked up across a fan trails of black soot lines. The dark spots areas I could see in the face of the meteor leads me to rationalize I was looking at several particles spreading apart, Thus why I saw SQUARE just before illumination ceased. I was just that further west, and had pristine clear skies and the incredible good fortune to be driving on a straight section of highway sloping down and it appeared dead center middle of my eyes. Oh a star just popped out. Oh that star is getting big quick. OUT LOUD...I was able to say fully and completely, "What the Florida Utah Connecticut Kansas am I seeing here...WOOOW! Never had my eyes OFF IT. I buried my eyelashes into my eyebrows.
