Broad daylight. Driving in my car on road near airport. Drivers on same road driving behind me and in opposite direction also reacted with ducking motion inside their cars as did I. First thought was plane crash or an explosion. Quick flash seemed to be overhead (made me duck inside my car) followed by a sound. Couldn't really identify a direction but sensed it could be to the left of me after it was above me. Very frightening and odd scenario. New experience. Very difficult to describe sensation. Left me shaken since I don't know what it was. Researched and found meteor or space junk entering atmosphere best fit what I experienced. Thank you for your time.
